They called off the blizzard warning.
New York is awake and slow today. The Starbucks on 85th and Lexington is open. It’s not packed, but it’s got a steady stream of customers. There are plenty of footfalls on the street, and shovels scraping some sidewalks. The busses are running, too.
The snow seems to have given way to frozen rain.
I hear more snow may come later. It’s a lazy day. I don’t think anyone round these parts cares too much. The city geared itself up for a day off. Mother Nature’s unexpected gift.
I’m working on some emails and accounting, staring out a big, plate-glass window.
Starbucks has the jazz channel on. This is New York.
